Re-creating the life and times of a French expeditionary force found in the upper Mississippi River Region before and during the French and Indian War
Members of our group portray a number of different personas including:
Captain and Madame Gerard, Native Woodland Indians, Sergeant of
Marines, Sergeant of Artillery, French Regulars, Militia, and Artillery
Crew. Our camp also prominently features a tente de cuisine,
or kitchen tent, where La Mère and Le Père (Mother and Father) serve
meals to the hungry unit. Soldat Dèvouès, or dutiful soldiers
take turns in assisting with the chores of daily living such as hauling
water, chopping wood, helping with cleaning, and other
labors. The camp also features women and children who in
addition to assisting with cooking or cleaning, also demonstrate
crafts, dancing, sewing, fashion, music, games, and other fun aspects
of 18th century life.
Our group travels in the Midwest area to a wide variety of Historical
Events. The past two years, many of our members got to
experience once in a lifetime 250th anniversary events at Fort Carillon
(Ticonderoga) in New York and this year at Fort Niagara. A
commemorative video (inset below) is currently in post
production. Members of our unit appear in several areas of
the video. Our group is available for historic events and
other festivals. If you would like us to attend
your event, please click on the Contact Us link. Nous
espérons que vous appréciez votre visite.
